Shipboard dinner and

dance to benefit GLU

A party tent is set up on the hatch covers of the Willis B. Boyer.

by Stuart Tart

Toledo Gays and Lesbians United will once again be producing their popular Pride dinner-dance event, scheduled for Saturday, June 14. The event will take place aboard the Willis B. Boyer, a lake freighter, now a museum, docked at International Park.

Approximately 300 people attended the event in 1996.

GLU will offer its dinner guests three menu choices, all prepared by Gladieux Catering. Guests may choose a beef tenderloin with wild mushroom sauce, or a chicken

breast stuffed with spinach and shrimp, or a stuffed mushroom entree.

The boat will open for dinner at 6 p.m. A dance will follow from 8 p.m. to midnight, at which a cash bar will be open. Tickets are currently available at Toledo area bars and gift shops. Prices for the event have been held at 1996 levels; sponsor tickets, which include dinner, will be sold for $75, while dance tickets will be offered for $15.

For further information, call GLU's voice mail at 419-292-1524, and someone will get back to you promptly.
